Kirsty is a leader in the global consumer insight and strategy industry. In 1997, she co-founded the Flamingo Group, which was acquired by Omnicom in 2006 and grew, under her leadership as co-CEO and latterly CEO until 2017, to become one of the largest specialist qualitative research agencies in the world, with a network of eight offices on four continents, employing 340 staff.

With a focus throughout her career on raising the contribution of context-informed consumer insight to business and brand success, we are excited about welcoming her on board!  Big Sofa’s CEO, Simon Lidington, commented:

“Kirsty is a talented and inspiring business leader with an impressive commercial track record. Having successfully grown a business from scratch to become one of the largest of its kind in the world, with several hundred employees, I believe she will be instrumental in helping to grow our company.

“We share the belief that observational methods led by video will transform the research industry. Kirsty’s unrivalled expertise in consumer insight and Big Sofa’s technology for capturing and analysing video at scale creates a powerful customer offering.”

Kirsty added:

“The insight industry is undergoing significant change, with increasing client demand for in-depth understanding of consumer behaviour to unlock future brand, product and service opportunities.  Research methods traditionally reliant on attitudinal and claimed behavioural data are no longer fit for purpose. Observation at scale is key. I have always sought to be in a company leading change; and I believe that Big Sofa is well placed to create - rather than simply adapt to - the future. Big Sofa’s technology can be the engine of the new insight landscape, breathing humanity into data and helping clients to uncover a fresh stream of behavioural insights to accelerate the growth of their business.”
